Investment Syndicate

Who are they?

A select group of executives and organisations will be the lead fund in addition to other investors who are interested in investing in ethnic minority owned businesses in the UK.

They are interested in supporting from a financial perspective and potentially mentoring perspective as well if the entrepreneur and investor see fit.

Why invest?

The investors would provide their financing as it will provide them with a stake (to be agreed with the entrepreneur) in the business they choose. This will enable the businesses to grow as well as allowing the investor to utilise their own experience and contacts to help the company achieve success post investment. Further to this there are tax relief opportunities for investors if their investment is done using the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) or the Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS).

The shortlist.

There will be a formal application process (where specific criteria will be set) with the best businesses will being filtered for possible investment from the executives.

Once the initial criteria is met there will be a panel which will consist of the investors and a selection of individuals from the sponsoring companies who will make the decision on the final cohort. .

Where does it go?

This will be explained by the business in their submission and their pitches. It will be taken into consideration by the investor when making their decision.

Success Talks will provide recommended legal firms who will be able to do due diligence, handle the payments etc
